Brentwood? I grew up on 4th Helena.

Now I am enroute from Phoenix.
One of my favorite things about Reno is the SWA flight inbound. One hundred and twenty something pax and ALL are pilots going to Reno for the races. Neat experience everytime

Re: How far are you driving or flying from to go to the Air Races?

                1. Spokane, 800 miles by Motorcycle, camp out for 9 days in NE corner of church lot with a wack job named Robert who takes 15,000 pics and never has time to look at any of them! Tim Adams is a real photog....
Best 9 days of my life every year...airplanes all day...self medicating in the evenings, watching the space station fly by (you see it more often if you self medicate more). I just waste the rest of the year going to Oshkosh, shooting single shot buffalo rifles at metal silouettes of animals,
motorcycle touring, and watching girls in tights at figure skating events.
Please dont let Robert spread my ashes there by dumping them in a porta potty.

Reno (Cold Springs, just over the ridge behind Red Rock)
                        However I can
                        4 miles
                        9 1/2 days
Home, early morning wakeups and evenings self-medicating by the pool watching anything that flys.
Have only missed 2 years since 76, 2001 because we had planned to fly here from Cali, and 1991 because a mechanical on our flight stuck us in Maui (yes we DID plan the trip so I would be back in time).
My son turned 21 this year and this will be his 18th race!

                              2. Car

                              6. Dawn to dusk photography.

Been going since 1988 with some interruptions and been going for the whole week since 2003.
                              • Missed 1989 due to my sister's wedding. Our side of the family gives up Reno and the other side doesn't show due to deer hunting season.
                              • 1997 was missed due to a vacation scheduled around my wife's uncle who flaked on us, but I got the Duxford airshow as a consolation prize - not a bad trade.
                              • There for the whole week in 2004 except for Sat/Sun (another wedding). So I missed the cold weather that fogged up Dago's windscreen and gave the win to the Bear.

                                2. Southwest Airlines
                                3. Distance: I believe that it is a one beer flight.
                                4. Arrive Thursday morning and depart Monday
                                5. Staying at Circus Circus. Bed and a shower are all I am look for.
                                6. You all need to leave the Casinos and join us (Box A35) at the go-cart track by the Grand Sierra. Loads more fun and a lot cheaper than the casinos. Bumping is strongly encouraged!
