See... this is what chaps my @$$ about the "virtual" course change. This is still not faster than the Bear's qualifying run in 1996, so... NOT the record.

Other than that... fantastic!

I understand the course change and all...But the event is the Reno Air Races and course change or not Strega just put up an official qualifying number faster than any before in this event...it's the record...I do not get ruffled by what plane holds the records because I love them all...Now I do have loyalties when it comes to pilots I like or am friends with...Go Bear!!!...Go VooDoo!!!...Go Strega!!!...Go Furias!!!...Go Everyone!!!...I wish you all well

As of now they haven't even really touched it since they put it in the pit. Most of the afternoon Unlimited's are on the ramp now or are in the process of being staged. They're in the process of getting their pit situated.

The plan is for John to race it, but he's also racing a couple of others so there's a scheduling conflict. Will had to jump in and do the qual for today.

Last time I watched an episode Marlin Perkins said that the Bear will always attack from the rear on a wild mustang....





Although there may be a Ghost of a chance the 'stang may look around - in which case the Bear will be Furias!

It's gotta be a testament to the aerodynamics of that airframe...Rare Bear had a 479 mph race speed in 2009 on a stock engine...but it still had its EA-2 slow nose case. I knew 232 would be reasonably quick...but not THAT fast.
