Chop saw and a bit of finishup... I always wonder what price things like this would bring for teams..

I know a bunch of us would pay whatever we could "afford" for engine part art.... hummn.. I like the sound of that .. "Engine Part Art"

Yup, an expensive ashtray for that very expensive glass-topped Merlin coffee table...

LOL... dunno, my eye sees that it would look good sittin on a cut down 50gal drum half/half with glass top/s.. or a single rectangle piece between the two.... actually for the price of the saw to cut them, the drum and a couple of glass tops from Big Lots... rattle can or two of your chosen color... hundred bucks would make ya a really dandy coffee table or a couple of good end tables..

          Works for me..

Is this part of why I've lived alone for so long?

Anyone else remember seeing one of these during the races one September in the early 1980's? I can't recall if it was displayed outdoors near the Bear's cave or somewhere in the pit area, but I DO remember seeing it there at Stead...

Naaa, looks like a spare change dish to me. Spare change because even if you fill it several times, you still won't come close to paying for it.

I've got one that came out of a Continental G-O300 and one out of a friends 2 liter Datsun roadster (door stop). A burnt piston from a Merlin or R3350 would be a cool addition however.

I've got a lamp made out of an old radial cylinder. My father picked it up for me at Planes of Fame many moons ago.
Merlins Magic used to seel broken parts in the pits. A fan from Germany one year could not wait to get home with his baggie of shards!

So, anyone know if that piston just burned and collapsed or was there a valve swallowed?

I think Bob uses the transporter for his hot rods/race car.
