                    Yeah it's ah Nogo...

                    This thread actually kinda sucks cuz I love that airplane... Anyone who has been to Chino and had a chance to see the Argo aerobatic routine should know what I'm talkin bout...

                    Am I missing something here or... lets see...
                    4360 = metal
                    3350 = metal
                    2800 = metal
                    why ?

                        Well Victor, I guess in the immortal words of Bullwinkle---- I think you need a new hat!! So does the new lightweight unobtanium material keep the "signals" out as good as the real tinfoil?? I found the tinfoil really does make one hell of an antenna.

                        So, why not put a Griffon on a Sea Fury?? Airplane is big enough.....and British

                            Because it is ugly as sin.

                            I too vote Sabre. Not only was it the most beautiful Fury, it was also the fastest. Now I know it is next to impossible to actually have a running Sabre (how's that coming Mr. Weeks?), but it would sure look nice sitting there. Besides, the Sanders do have that other Sea Fury they can fly around in while the Sabre is being worked on, provided it is not making metal.

                            But in all seriousness, I really feel for the Sanders and all the engine issues that they have had. Like Victor, I have seen acro Argo and I absolutely love that plane. I sincerely wish them the best reliability from the engine gods. I like the idea of getting 13 or 15 years out of the engine like Dawson and Pardue. I hope that can happen again and for all engines.

                              That is the ONE restoration in the world that I have been most excited about for the longest amount of time with the least amount of progress.

                              The last I checked the airplane itself is well on it's way to being restored to airworthy...but there are just NO Saber parts to get an airworthy engine. Kermet has two blocks, but there just arent' the parts for it. Bummer. I mean, REAL bummer.
