    Re: Still experimenting...

My old friend Gene McNeely fed me his usual line when he first turned up with his new T-6 at Tunica a while back -- "This one is heavy, lots of nav gear, just a stocker, not gonna try to go fast with it" etc etc...

It surely is in Gold form now.

He is running out of room for sponsor decals though...

      Re: Still experimenting...

Here's a different sort of experiment. I finally broke down and bought a flatbed scanner and this is my first scan. I haven't completely figured out how the whole business works, but it's a start I guess. This is a Tri-X shot, done almost exactly 30 years ago...

One more attempt at a usable scan, and then I need to get some work done.

The weather and a lot of new racers!
Sure wish I could view these. The setup here blocks them.

                  A little quiz:

A nice random collection of Raceplanes ready for practice and qual -- what year??

Open to relative newbies -- Shawn excluded for now. Leo too, I guess, as his computer does not speak Photobucket...

Look at the Butterknife -- didn't exist in 1982, and was Colortile in 1985 IIRC...

I was torn between '87 and '88, but since you said '88, I'll say '87

Dineega has it -- I'm not sure from these airplanes, without seeing the Bear's paint job that one could tell 87 from 88!

Like 2008, 1987 was a very good year for Mustang lovers...
