    Wayne, thanks for the info.

Hell, I do old race boats and get that same response!

      Re: Race 57 sold? CONFIRMED

Robert is such a great guy.. I'll never forget the first time I saw the airplane in Oshkosh and Robert invited me up on the wing to take a closer look.. told me the entire story of how Cook got the airplane from the Navy... Just a really really neat guy!

That this will both fund his current and future projects, and give him more time to get them done.. well, something tells me, this is only the beginning of the beginning for Robert and company!

So does he just collect or do you think he might be interested in fielding a team. There are some pretty fast planes for sale.

Don't know. I was watching SPEED last night, and he has a front row seat reserved at the auction. He was not on TV last night. Watch the auction on Friday and Saturday, he gets a lot of on screen time. I have never heard him say a word on TV though.

I apologize if this has already been addressed somewhere...Since Bob will still get to fly it , does that mean it will still be at Reno ? And with Bob stating the other Corsair will fly by the end of summer I wonder if we could see two racer Corsairs at Reno?!?!?!

Perhaps I missed this somewhere, but can anyone confirm that Ron Pratt is the new owner?

As of a couple of weeks ago the airplane was on display in the CAF Arizona Wing hangar/museum. Although a nice place to visit I really don't think it qualifies as the "the most beautiful" and it is in Mesa, not Chandler. Maybe AZ is getting a new Museum we don't know about yet?

Ron pratt just bought a 1929 ford tri star at Barret Jackson. His buys a lot of classic cars for a private collection. I heard from a friend of mine at Stellar field in chandler az. His collection will be there. Hopefully public, at least I live just of the flight path.

I'll toss one into the mix as well...I'm going to miss seeing this racer rounding the pylons.
