Shawn, what year was it (late 80's) that John was walking to the racers in a fire suit while holding a bucket with dry ice in it? The races were the best thing...

      Thanks,

Jason, where's Power-pac located at in Ione? I visited power-pac way back when when it was at Oakland airport.

Also, what is the zinc-cromated object in the back right hand side of the picture?

        TIA,

        Dave

Actually, I was wearing the fire suit to "fuel" the tug with the "special race gas" John Crocker was the race tug pilot. Power-Pac Enginnering is owned by Kathy Bogue, widow of the Late Mike Bogue. Renee is an employee of Power-Pac. The primered object in the photo is a T2 Buckeye owned by a customer.

Here's a poor quality shot I took of Daryl sitting on Conquest 1 with the two oxen pulling him out prior to the gold race.

The Ramp Rat Report said "Darryls oxen are Mustang Ranch rejects"...
Not a tug but along the lines of Darryll, does anyone remember Ray Cote in the Circus Circus suit?

I have a slide of that. I have asked Speedy Haskin to put a bunch of old slides on a disk. As soon as I get it I will post that and some other "oldies, but goodies"
