STEADFAST PAINT

Well I finally bowed to the pressure of my crew who was tired of wiping exhaust and oil off of a rough, primered surface. We began prepping the fuselage and parts about a month ago and then blew a nice high solid primer all over the Yak. Steadfast is really smooth now and with a few more painting sessions all of the markings will be on it. It is an incredible amount of work to paint an airplane no matter what the scheme.
Here are a few pictures of the prepped racer. It's gonna be faster!

QUESTION.....


The way i read it is that the original paint was not gloss and that this new paint will be more "slick".

RESULT....
What is the impact on speed increases (projected)

Yes

It was in primer, now it's a smoother semi gloss finish.
mainly its the wings that got filled with a high build primer that makes them look so much more aerodynamically efficient.
If it really is or not, I wont know until September.
