      Kinda like this?
This was after the engine blew, but it's only about twice normal...

Its been said that the only time a radial doesn't leak oil, is when its out of oil. Aside from the mess, if the Bear can win with that much oil loss, who cares. Think of it this way, its like the Alfa Romeo rust protection; they didn't use any, so they built the engines to coat everything on the underside.

A blown engine isn't the name of the game however, and that mess is way to much.

I don't think there is a radial that isn't externally lubricated (tho I'd love to know how Mike Brown does it).
I used to help crew a B-25 back in 80 when most warbirds were'nt maintained as well as they are today.
We would show up at an airshow and the group of us trading cleaning for a ride would hop out with ladders and rags and go to work. We would spend every minute of that day wiping oil off of and out of every square inche from the prop back. The machanic would fill the tanks, and we would fly home, to do it all again before it set up.
How about an all black Bear so the oil didn't show
I DO like that last one tho.

Paint that sucker the brightest red you can find. It's called CHROMAKINETIC AUGMENTATION. Something they tried way back in the day, thinking that bright red paint would make it go faster.

Personally, I liked the green paint scheme the best. Although flat black with flames and red pinstriping would be pretty cool. "Rat Plane"
