IF1 was less active than some other racing classes at PRS. There were seven students, but only two racers on the course, and for the first time in several years no two place airplanes to show the way around the course.
#1 is the former #57, known in recent years as Agressor and raced by various pilots -- famously the one-armed Robert Jones. It was flown up from Carson City by the new owner for PRS. He seems quite happy with his new acquisition, except for some extreme pitch sensitivity which he hopes to tame a bit before September.
The great looking #96 was designed quite some time back by the well known Robby Grove, and has also been raced by various pilots over the years -- most recently David Hoover. It has always been a fast airplane -- though sometimes more so in qualifying than in actual races. With a good motor it should easily run in the Gold...
