<sigh>. A double feature, newsreel, cartoon, AND a serial at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland was seventy-five cents. Add the coke, candy and popcorn and it blew the week's lawn mowing and pop-bottle collecting money.

Sayyyyyy, just how old ARE you, Wayne?

Ah, the fifties been berry, berry good to me. And the both of you based on the pic. Plus I, too, still have all my hair, gray though it may be. But if I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself. I can do better forecasting the weather by which broken, abused, misused, or generally worn out body part starts aching than any satellite can ever begin to do.

Thanks for the photo; I'm sure others were wondering too.

            Thanks Kummer

            Hans,

Yes, this picture is awesome - I like so many really dug the 'german-film reel' from Rocketeer and wanted to see more (hoping a picture with that texture would be made). I have been showing this site and last week the clip to my kids. Very cool cannot wait to experience...go Warhawk go!
Wayne - you are a stud!

                  ESPN Classics

Just a bit off topic, but ESPN classics just showed a Classic Wild World of Sports episode that showed the Air Races (time of broadcast was 8am PST). Specifically the year Steve Hinton crashed in the Red Baron. The show was hosted by Chris Fowler. He also showed when the last time the Air Races were televised by ABC, 1981. Is it possible that they might make a return?

                  See ya, Dave

                    Super Dave,

.....they aired that back in december here on the east coast....
.....my guess is they purchased air rights and it will show again,
but try to get a real shedule from 'em.....one that reads as they show.....

.....good piece all in all,a bit dated, but

                    IT HAD AIR RACERS!
