    Re: Biplane pics?

Yes, the crash claiming Tommy's life happened in 2002. Time flies.

The reason I brought it up was that the original poster used Tommy's name instead of David Rose's name when asking about the Biplanes. I was attempting to clear up any misunderstandings.

      Walt-
A lot of pictures available are copyrighted, if you join up here, or give us a e-mail address, we can "share" photo's without infringing on any rights.
There was a great airborne shot of it on Trade-A-Plane's cover, a few years back. They might be able to help, if no one here has any. I'll do some rummaging...

Biplane/Formula One hanger, lot's of interesting things going on in there, and it's in the shade, (or sheltered from the snow...whatever).
        Drop in some time.

          Walt-
Check here , a number of Cobra models, and some history, and at least one available on e-bay.
FYI- fuselage started out as Midget Mustang project.
I've collected a few pictures I can share, if you want.

Of Bill's picture? The Snowbirds? Is that what you are asking about?

Yes, that's what I was talking about, sorry I wasn't clear. When did the Snow birds first come to reno?

I think they first came in '77? Maybe '79? Again in '83, but they were very unhappy about how they were treated (as were the Blues that year) and didn't come back until the mid'90's one year.

Are you sure it is in the Arkansas Air Museum? That's the one in Fayetteville, right? I was just there in July for the first flight of my biplane racer Miss Gianna and visited the museum. There was a lot of interesting stuff in there, but I didn't see Cobra. I would have remembered seeing an old biplane racer.

Here are a couple of photos from taxi testing and the first flight going by the museum building.

                          Re: Biplane pics?

                          Folks,
I am the son of Pat Hines who raced Sundacer back in the late 1970's and early 80's. If anyone has pics of Sundancer, could you please send them to me at john.a.hines@boeing.com.

I miss those days. Reno was always the high light to the end of my summer vacation as a kid. I loved to watch my father and Don Beck go at it.
                          Thanks,
                          John
