    Well Matt it was in Air International by Frank Mormillo and I also talked with Eric Ahlstroem about this matter some years back.

    The P51H only weighed 4150 lbs empty..I see no reason why they'd done any heavier plane. Kinda easy to believe when you know this.

    How is his DART-project coming along ?

      Oops !

      I got some figures mixed here.

      XP-51F was 5635 lbs 2558 kg empty.
      P-51 H was 7040 lbs 3196 kilos empty .

      Well I checked my data and Frank Mormillo says in the issue of AI that Tsunami T/O was 3150 kg ( marginally less than the Bear !? ).
      I was then later informed from Reno that what I stated above.

      Tsunami may have weighed 7000 lbs at take off.

      Do we know for sure ?
