Ordered two direct from the website.

One for me, one for autographs (Does Lyle still go to the races since he sold the Bear?)

To the best of my knowledge Lyle has not been to the races since the sale.

"4) What is the difference in the stall speed of Rare Bear vs. a stock Bearcat? Is this difference a huge factor in the aforementioned scenarios?"

Rare Bear's approach speed is nearly double that of a stock Bearcat, and add to that the clipped wings...it makes landing Rare Bear on one leg a very risky proposition at best. I would have to guess that this was a huge factor in the decision process.

No, Lyle has not been to the races since the sale of the airplane.

Thanks for the update Sky critter, I really hope the guys particularly that take the time read this book. As I said I have not yet seen it, but the Rourk's were really fans of airplanes and Air racing, they became very good friends of ours and Dell has really been there with this.

Is this book new and an up to date history? Or does it end in the mid 90s?

It is a history of Lyle Shelton, and the Rare Bear.

The first publish date is August 23 of this year. I'm hoping it ends with the sale to Mr. Lewis.
