Calling-out to all the air racing modelers & race fans out there for some much-needed assistance.

Doing some research on the scale model collection of Unlimited air race planes on display at Reno's old Hilton "PYLON BAR" fm 1995-2010...

There was a large-scale #77 Rare Bear, plus a whole slew of smaller-scale racer models, which included the following planes:

#1-'Conquest-1' (Smirnoff-sponsored)
#21-'Mr. Mennen' (Mira Slovak P-39)
#1-'Super Corsair'
#7-'Beguine' ('49 Cleveland NAR P-51 with wing tip radiators)
#5-'Red Baron' RB-51
#101-'Perestroika' Yak
#21-Pond Racer
#84-'Cobra II' P-39
#13-'White Lightnin' P-38
#4-'Dago Red' P-51D
#7-'Strega' P-51D
#11-'Miss America' P-51D
#8-'Dreadnought' Sea Fury
Bob Hoover's Shrike (Evergreen-sponsored)

1- What other racers were included in the smaller-sized Unlimiteds listed above that you can recall?

2- What's the story behind this model collection (who built 'em?, scales?, etc.)?

3- Any photos of these models while they were on display there at the Pylon Bar?

I know RARA ended-up w/most of these when they dismantled the Pylon Bar, but trying to document the history of this model collection (the smaller ones were mounted on sticks in the center of the bar layout, as I recall). Hoping that some of you might be able to help out w/this mini-project & 'Big Thanks' in advance!

Well I have nothing constructive to add to this Bucky, sorry, but I was heart broken when I last walked in and they were gone.....and having known where my interests wouldve turned in advance, I wouldve paid soooo much more attention to them

(They might as well have ripped down the Reno Arch down town....I looked at that display as a "part of what made Reno, Reno")

But I will dig through our old family reunion photos (held every year in Reno for several years) to see if I took photos of them.

If RARA got them when the bar remodeled, have you tried asking RARA who in their group got them/has them or what happened to them?

'Affirmative' (-I'm working w/RARA on this research task).

The models they do have are now inside the trophy cases up in RARA HQ office.
