1981, my first trip, and not expecting a lot.

Jeannie was the first P-51 to school me on how fast a propeller-driven airplane can REALLY go. Man, that first exposure out on the track can really get to you.

She gave me my first hit of air racing at it's best, and I've been an addicted junkie ever since.

What a great shot! Yup, she was one of my favs. One of those permanent "brain-burns" was Jeannie screamin' around the pylons in 80-81.

    Miss Candance

The Warbird Aeropress has some nice galleries of Miss Candance from the mid 60s.

and of course the other variation of the Ghost as Jeannie.

Gosh, I can still rememeber being directly under the filed on the back stretch during the gold in 80-81, hollering Go Jeannie Go.

No wonder theres so much sorrow loosing the Ghost
