HERSCHEL WARREN ROURK
Hersch Rourk, 76, died peace fully on December 20, 2006, at Washoe Medical Center, Reno, NV after a lengthy illness. His family was at his side. Hersch was born in Charleston, South Carolina, to Gussie and Thomas Rourk in April 1930. His parents, five sisters and three brothers precede him in death. Hersch is survived by Dell, his wife of 57 years; three sons: Michael, Patrick, and Dennis; seven grandchildren, two great-grand children; one brother, Edward; and two sisters, Dorothy and Betty. Hersch and Dell moved to Reno in 1988. He served with the 11th Airborne Division, 82nd Airborne Division and with the 187th Airborne Regi mental Combat Team in Korea during the Korean conflict. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1966 with 20 years service then from the Millbrae, CA, Post Office in 1988 after 22 years service. Hersch was a member of Reno Masonic Lodge #13 and the Kerak Shrine of Reno. At his request, there will be no formal funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shrine Hospital for Children, 4935 Energy Way, Reno, NV, 89502.
