The film clip is obviously the demo race from Oshkosh.

The race at Moose Jaw was a conventional 'left-turn' course back in 1984. It also had the most pylon cuts ever recorded in a single heat of racing.
If it makes you feel better I got it. Thanks for making me feel kinda smart, at least less dumb than usual.

It's gotta be Oshkosh.. the photo platform that's in frame right at the last and the airplane "Stang" also..

They do the demo at Osh "backward" due to the overflight requirements I think..

Gotta be Osh and just about has to be this year... Tim??

If it was Moose Jaw, it certainly wasn't 1984. Odegaard's Corsair wasn't restored yet. Like others, I'm leaning towards OSH.

Paging Tim Adams. Is there anything in the video that ties it to Oshkosh?

Pretty sure that was the Demo race at the airshow in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan back in (I think it was) 1984. I didn't make it there myself but I've seen video of it. The course was set up right-hand because if set up conventionally, someone flying wide over the tightest turn would overfly a residential area.

In attendence (among others) were Dago Red, (before the flames ;-)) Super Corsair, and the beautiful Habu. A friend took lots of pictures, I've still got some on my wall from this event.

    Cheers
    Gerry
