Boy, I can vouch for that!!!

If any in the Sparrow camp still want a piece of me, pm me and I’ll let you know what unlimited pit I’ll be in. But I’ll not be pushing pencils and my hands might be dirty. Please try to be gentle, is all I ask.

And I’ll say it again, “may all the Sparrow motor’s growl with thunder at Reno this year”

    Sparrow,
Who let you out of the shop, what did I tell you about slacking off. Don't make me come down there, and I do not want to hear the "I'm hungry...I'm tired....Blah, Blah, Blah

    Get to work!!!

The House of Magnum Mopars is pulling for y'all too. Many is the time we've offered up prayers for inanimate hunks iron and aluminum... the prayers for humans involved are a given, though. Hang in there.

    Mr. Sparrow,

The fact that you make time to come on here at all is appreciated by more than me, I'm quite sure. That being said, I can't imagine anyone else who would want to come out and put on a woopass demo more than you. Everyone knows you've got the skills, but racing, in all it's aspects, requires luck as well. I'd say Lady Luck owes you one.

    Mrs. Sparrow,

Thank you for "letting" your hubby do his do. Passion is usually accompanied by sacrifice. It takes a hell of a woman understand, accept and bless her husbands passion at her own sacrifice.

For us it is just nice to have him home once in a while.

Or maybe you would like to trade my 60 hours there working along side of him so all YOU can sit back and say it just isn't enough. Sorry but flip comments such as this one get my hair up. Nothing seems to be enough to satisfy you people.

Mrs. Sparrow, I'm sorry you took my comment the wrong way. I was trying to indicate support for Sparrow that although things are always busy during this time of year getting ready for the races, at least your husband isn't totally swamped with work since he was able to post here. As an unlimited race crew member for 15 years, I know the work that goes into preparing an aircraft for Reno. Now you multiply that times 5 and you have what Mike is going through right now. I thought this might be a good sign for him that things are looking up for him right now.

I surely didn't mean any disrespect, but total support for your husband's efforts. His efforts are what makes the Races what they are today, the world's fastest motorsports.

My sincere apologies if you took my comments the wrong way.

C'mon now, admit it... You just want him home so you can roll the ol' boy at yet another game of Uno! What's the score now? Mom 7, Toodles 8, and the Sparrow... 1! Best he sticks to the engine building gig.

With sleep so scarce, it's gotta be hard to take time to read here but I do think that you guys took it wrong. Mike's REALLY appreciated, we're pulling HARD praying it all comes together for him and the guys who he's doin all the work for.

I'd bet that if it were possible in any way shape or form, any of the guys here would take time and go help.. again, if it were possible.

Trouble is, none of us know a merlin finger from a chicken finger and even if we did, we dont' live anywhere near close enough.

Thinking back, I can't remember a year when one single engine builder had such a stake at Reno.. how many engines are we talkin'?? Two for Tiger, one for Button, one (two?) for Danny.... who'd I miss??

That's a LOT of iron pushed down the sleeve!

We're behind you Family Sparrow... even if it gets missed in the mouth to finger translation!

    Wayne
Let's face it he is one of the few guys building merlins anymore. The law of average is just going to be higher. On both ends... He has a higher chance of failure, but also has a very good chance of smelling like Dom come september. Press on!

    Sparrow Spouse, Daughter,

I do not for one second think that ANYONE here was flaming Sparrow, or the work he puts into his work.
I do know that we all love the airplanes, his engines go into. Please dont think that we dont apreciate the hard work he does. We may do some ribbing from time to time. But it is all in good fun and I did not see any ribbing that was directed to Sparrow in this thread.
I do know that Sparrow and a couple of others that post in here have errm... ruffled a few feathers (sorry), but I didnt see anything here to suggest this was ment in such a way.

    Just my thoughts

    Wolfee

This is Toodles, or as most know me, Sparrows daughter

I agree with my mother GREATLY with what she has said. While some of you pencil pushers get to go home and spend time with your families, my father is working hard to make sure that everything is safe and secure for this years racing season. I dont care what you people think of me but i know one thing for sure, i am so proud of my dad for putting so much effort into his dream life and making sure that everyone is happy.

    IS THAT ENOUGH FOR YOU!?!

Good luck and I'm hoping that all the "Sparrow's" growl with thunder at Reno.
