Question about L29's.

Why do they make a whistling sound?

I've had a few people in the stands ask me about it. It occurs to me, that I don't know if it's the engine or airframe. I know that all of the stock L29's whistle. I can't remember if they whistle with non-stock engine (which would make it an airframe thing). I seem to recall that they do, but it's been long enough that I am not sure.

I went into the jet pits today to find the answer to this.

It's an engine sound on the stock L29's. Further verified because the GE engined L29's did not make the same sound today in race 1A.
