Re: God Speed BG Yeager
My first knowledge of General Yeager as written by Tom Wolfe: "Military Pilots and then, soon, airline pilots, pilots from Maine to Massachusetts and the Dakotas and Oregon and everywhere else, began to talk in that poker-hollow West Virginia drawl, or as close as the could bend their native accents. It was the drawl of the of the most righteous possessor of the Right Stuff: Chuck Yeager"

Re: God Speed BG Yeager
Had the honor of "keeping the General company" while at the Museum of Flight. I was on duty as a Docent and the CEO came down on the floor walked up to me with General Yeager, introduced us and said, "General Yeager, Owen will be your escort for the next 30 minutes while we arrange for your limo."
Now, exactly WT...?! am I going to tell General Yeager about aviation?! So, we walked around the Great Hall, I kept shooing away gawkers and autograph seekers, he has questions about a few of our more obscure A/C, then we sat on the steps of the Museum sharing a cup of coffee until his limo arrived.
Thankfully I had a spare pair of pants in my locker...if you know what i mean!
Certainly NOT on the level of experience Reever enjoyed (that's awesome, sir!), but nonetheless a highlight of my 12 years as a Docent at MoF. Never forget it...
CAVU, Sir. RIP.
