How many years were the races held in Phoenix? What airport was used? How was the audience? Why were they discontinued?

Phoenix was the site of races for 3 years, the first 2 were races, the third was more of a demo, and not a sanctioned race.
The operators failed to pay the racers for various reasons, even though they promised to.
NAG sent an officiating team the first 2 years, but did not participate the 3rd year, since it was not truly a race. I still have the shirts. ;-)

The PHX races were held at the former Williams AFB now called Gateway and is located at the east side of the Phoenix area. The attendance seemed on par with a typical airshow with the T-birds or Blues. The third year featured monster trucks...
