"Big Bossman"

Not the most likely airplane to be seen flying the High Desert Air Race Course, Mike Brown's newest addition to his "fleet," the beautiful "Big Bossman" Grumman F7F "Tigercat." Viewed from atop the Reno Air Races "Home Pylon," Mike Brown is giving the "Big Bossman" of the Reno Air Race Association, Mike Houghton, the ride of a lifetime in his "Big Bossman," in this shot taken by Wayne Sagar during the annual "Pylon Racing Seminar" at the Reno Stead Airport.

Brown recently purchased the airplane from the Lonestar Flight Museum, Galveston, TX. Mike's new airplane is an immaculate, flying museum quality example and we have to admit to being more than a bit surprised, and pleased, to get the chance to see this beautiful airplane in the wonderful flying environment of "Reno." An especially rare opportunity, considering that this big twin engine Grumman is one of only a few flying examples left of the F7F.

The airplane is sure to be a crowd pleaser at the upcoming National Championship Air Races, whether it is entered as a racer, or as a competitor in the National Aviation Heritage Invitational! (Rolls Royce Cup)
