Getting some much needed publicity for the museum, Project Director Mike Wright explains work to be done to local Oregon media reporters. Since its move to Oregon in 1992, the historic airplane has drifted out of the public eye. Stored in temporary facilities for nearly eight years, Howard Hughes' massive wooden flying boat was moved across Oregon's Highway 18 in September of 2000.
