dose any body hear have any pictures showing rare bear. when she was abble cat. or from the early 1980's when it became RARE BEAR.

Able Cat/Phoenix I ran a DC-7 propeller and spinner.

I believe it changed to a Skyraider prop in 1972 or 1973. In 1974 they added a 'discarded' P-51 spinner that Howie Keefe had thrown in the trash.

I think the Skyraider propeller and Black Widow spinner were first used at Cape May, NJ in 1971, and were on it definitely in July for the San Diego, CA race.

Man I love all these old bear shots..

and there is another plane behind the bear in that last pic.. I believe it to be the Super Chipmonk. Lots of memories here.
