Default 2009 Air Race Pictures

Now that its dark when I get home, finally decided to post some '09 shots. The film processors managed to ruin most of my stereo film, so its all ramp and in the air stuff this year from the 2D camera.

Nice. The sky was perfect for the Red Eagles that day. I was at pylon #2 though, with the wrong lenses for them.

Luvverly shots, certain art.

That Grumman was an Albatross, not a Goose. You might want to correct that copy.

Goose, Albatross...same difference...

Fixed.

Jarrod, the Voodoo date should be correct, but then I did have my 30D set to the wrong year for about three years running.

From memory the goose was quite a bit smaller than the Albatross.. the civil version of the Albatross was the Mallard

I was joking. Picked the wrong name out of my failed memory banks.

I think you might be wrong on that. The Mallard is a step between the Goose and the Albatross, and pretty rare. I think most of them have been converted to turbo prop and fly with a small airline out of Florida some place. The Mallards are pretty rare, not many built.

Chalk's International Airlines (nee Chalk's Ocean Airways) and not anymore.

Some of you may remember the fiery Mallard crash that pretty much led to the end of their operation.
