I've seen a lot of of hairy landings and situations and that was absolutely one of the nicest turns on a very well thought out, tough approach. Nailed it. We we're all breathless 'till he got 'er down.

I bet that was exciting for all involved. I have a feeling the Bear glides like a brick. Crashing is not an option.

I guess JP must have been secrectly getting some Space Shuttle landing training on the side, eh? Bringing that tiny-winged bird without any power must be a real spincter-puckerer.

Big congrag to the Rare bear team for another Gold Championship win.

Steve inspects the Bear at 10,000 MSL as they orbit the field at heaven-knows-how-fast.

Exciting was watching the Bear kick ass in the final.
Hearing about the stuck throttle on the radio and watching and waiting for John Penney to land safely was not my idea of exciting.
Seeing Mr. Penney sitting on the Bear hugging his grandchildren brought tears to my eyes. I've done more crying this week than I have in the last year - good and bad.
