Looks like Chuck Hall in Doug Driscoll's #3 "Section Eight".....the airframe is Chuck Lyford's former "Bardahl Special".

Kind of reminds me of Bob Jones flying his T6 through a tree at a demo race at the Yakima WA airshow several years ago.

Leo, Leo, Leo! You ought to know by now, I hate 'shopping'. Ah, but manipulate images in Photoshop, now that's fun!

Re: How Low can y ou go

I just don't remember him busting the deadline THAT badly HeHe
Now the year before when Mr. Patterson got low there....

Back in '82 we got buzzed by Lefty at pylon outer 4. Low? We were outside the pylon, basically laying down and after he passed we were covered in dirt, sticks, sand and rocks blown up by him. If he was six feet I would be amazed. The guys at the pylon said 'Hell, let it go" and did'nt cut him.
If I remember right the first year Hall raced Section Eight he was plagued with electrical issues. I have a shot somewhere of him taxiing out as the others were taking off, he had a hard time starting. Right in front of us the engine went "pop" and quit. He rolled to a stop, put his arm on the cockpit rail, and placed his head on it in frustration.
