Shooting through haze

Hi all! Chino is right around the corner and every year I go down and shoot as many pictures as possible. The problem I have is-the haze that is always there just washes everything out on me. Can any of you more experienced photographers share some tips on shooting in haze? I've tried researching the subject on line and have had no luck. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
