I've always agreed with the pig wrestling comparison that goes:

Arguing with a (fill in blank) is like wrestling with a pig.
Everyone gets dirty, and the pig likes it.

I'm watching, with some amusment, wondering how long, absent the troll who started this, that it takes for this thread to die on its own...

Don't think Frank Taylor would want his name included in the title of this aimless thread (-at least I wouldn't).

                        Re: Frank Taylor, Dago Red

The concept is simple, the execution is not...

An airplane has never won a race or set/broken a record, nor has a pilot, nor a crew chief...

Becoming the "fastest" is a TEAM effort. It is the culmination of design, experience, knowledge, and skill that must all come together at the same point in time. Even if all of these things do come together, success is not guaranteed. On top of that, you must also have the cooperation of Mother Nature and Mr. Murphy. As we've all seen in the past, Mr. Murphy is a BIG fan of air racing.

Hey Buckey, I feel your pain but... IMHO.. for whatever it's worth, if you do "public" things... i.e. buy airplanes that are either destined to participate in popular public events, or have a history of same, regardless of a particular indivual's desire to be low-key, or "under the radar" it just goes with the territory....

Strega, Dago, Voodoo, Da Bear. ALL of them can beat Air Biscuit and Sparky.
