How many times has Dago won?

What were those speeds and were they faster than Dago's 507 MPH laps? And why haven't I heard about Strega's 500+ MPH laps until now?...seems like that would've been pretty big news in this forum....and how many times winning means nothing about who's the fastest...winning just means they were the fastest THAT YEAR...the fastest is whomever has posted the highest speed on the course, and as far as I know, that's Dago.....

They are all fast. Now lets get on with the races. The plane owner with the most money & writes the fastest checks usually wins.

I believe Strega had a lap at 511 in 2009's Saturday race.

              Re: Frank Taylor, Dago Red

The way I see it is this:
If its a mustang and has red on it its fast.
If its a mustang and has purple on it its fast.
If its a bearcat and has purple (sans the ummm swimmers) its fast.
Any given plane in the same class can beat any other plane in the same class.
It comes down to how healthy the motor is on sunday. Past couple years the round motor people been having the problems, before that it was the inline motors having the problems.
Any of the top contenders can go 500mph.
Hell I betcha once Will W finishes bolting that race 4360 onto his yak he will be in that class to.

              Its a beautiful day!!!!!!
Sun is out, snow is but a memory. Sept is a long ways off. Time to go fishing!!!

                  Re: Frank Taylor, Dago Red

I am reminded of the winter of 1941/42 in China when the AVG realized that instead of getting caught in a 'turning battle' with the Zero, the best tactic for the P-40 was to dive and run away.

The best way to put a stop to it is not to engage.

                  Just walk away....

Actually, in all reality, the 2800 is the component of choice for the Yak, no doubt. And if we ever see the infamous "Mr Awesome"/"Frost Bite" again, I hope it boasts one, rather than the TC.

Oh yeah? I know Dago and Rare Bear is faster than Strega, so there.

I couldn't resist either. Seems comical.

Superb advice, and fantastically illustrated. I will most likely steal it from you for use on other forums Big Jim!

Just remember some are not slow some are not fast but there are always those that are half fast Don't repeat that fast.

Dago was not "taken out of racing" The plane was on a path to get overhauled and become faster. That didn't happen because of money/legal issues.

Also, Strega is faster than Dago Red.
                                Never , ever, ever . . . . not even on a bet.
