Funny story... Recently I was discussing with an uninformed friend the alure of this obscure sport that has only one event where people will travel thousands of miles to stand in the desert cheering for competitors who will never make the news unless something really bad happens...

She asked, "Do people cheer for their favorite airplanes or for the pilots?" I thought for a second and answered, "Some people are there cheering for their favorite engines and propellers"

Section 3 cheers for anything, round inline, 2, 3, 4 blades. The noise level pegs the meter when the 2 legged female variety ops for our orange shirts.

I'm still trying to come to grips with the fact Dialtapper says no three blade.

As far as I know the 4 blade is faster that the 3.

If anyone likes I'll ask and get an official answer from the person that makes that call.

I had it in my head they set the record with the three blade. Of course, I still believe in the great pumpkin, and am waiting for him to materialize and help Mr. Lewis put it back where it belongs. I assume the three blade is a wall hanger for life, but will never let go of my hope.

And Linus has never stopped going out to the pumpkin patch either.

Don't ever seeing it going back on. Other than, if it was to go to the Smithsonian or some such place someday, it would be a waste to sit there with the Skyraider prop.

Maybe so....but the three-blade never went this fast, either. Not many pictures of this event out there, but here is the FBDoR on his 3K run at Las Vegas, NM in August of 1989.
