I was reading another thread and saw mention of the Whittington Bros. whatever happened to them......are they still involved in Indy racing and aviation?

No.
Don and Dale raced IMSA briefly in 1999. Bill is living in Colorado. Don still runs World Jet in Florida and is still something of a wheeler/dealer in rare warbirds. Both Don and Bill have been racing 'senior division' motorcycles in the last few years, though.
The last year either one of them raced CART/Indy was 1985.
