Yeah, very sad for the pilot, and his family. Our prayers go out for them.

To a lesser extent, this is a bad streak of bad luck for Andy (owner of the Dragon). He is based at my airport (M54-Lebanon, TN) and just last year while ferrying to Louisville for a show hit a downdraft/windshear on final and totaled the original Dragon. This aircraft, Dragon II, was the replacement. The news articles suggest that the pilot was one who had just purchased it, but this is untrue. He was ferrying the Dragon to NY for an airshow for Andy.
