My cousin and and I actually got buzzed twice by a solid purple P-51 When we were kids around '86-'87. We bothed lived on a residential airport in W.WA and had just crossed the runway shortly before the first pass. I guess the pilot saw us and figured he'd give us another look and went around again. I have no idea who it was, but I was told it was based out of the Tacoma Narrows airport. Didn't/doesn't Clay Lacy have a purple P-51?

Until Voodoo was born Clay's plane was the only purple warbird I've ever viewed.

Clay still has the Mustang, but I think it has been several years since it was flown.
