  • Goss Memorial Service

Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to put on the service yesterday.
Many stories, old friends and good times remembered. On the flight home, dad remarked that that was the easiest memorial service he'd ever been to. Seemed to me that it was exactly as I expected it to be.

Hopefully one of the "real" photographers will pipe in with their shots, but here's my offering:

    The second missing man formation...

Not a great photo because you can't get a sense of the speed (which, I'm sure was 250 knots), but this is what Tiger called "my tribute to Al."

Randy. I was glad I made it to the Memorial. Your Dad would have been proud of you Saturday. A part of me went with your Dad as he & all of you have been the ones that kept me coming back to Reno at my age. I hope to see all of you in Sept. I'm going to be cremated when I 'm gone & I had asked your Dad to spread my ashes over the hills on his way to the Reno races.

The memorial for Al 'Papa' Goss was a true testament to the pilot that has 'gone west'. People came from all over to share and to celebrate his life.

In front of Eddie's hanger, the flags say much.
As time moved forward, people from all over started to arrive.
T-6's take off to honor Al Goss.
The missing man formation will bring the hardiest to tears.
