  • Help! Doctor! Help!

    Doc,
With things being/getting scarce for merlin engines,
What peices would you call as being the toughest to find?

    2) (given a crankcase to do the deed) would using a pair of "H" or "I" beam rods instead of the blade and fork set be stronger/
    more durable?
(0" off set of the banks right?)(new/replacement case with offset
    built in,like "modern"v engines)

    3) Are factory or other working drawings around for the Merlins?
(anyone from Packard Motor Car? or Rolls Royce?)

    4) Who are you guiding as an aprentice?
    (ya need a volenteer?)

    5) I notice the Budwiser girls don't venture into the pit area anymore, you have something to do with that?

    Thanks Doc!

IN RECENT YEARS THE WHEELCASE HAS BECOME THE COMPONET

    WITH THE SHORTEST LIFE.

HENRY FORD SPENT MILLIONS AND BOB BUTTON SPENT

THOUSANDS, TRYING TO MAKE THE SIDE BY SIDE RODS WORK.

IF YOU LOOK AT THE STOCK MERLIN FORK AND BLADE RODS.

ONE IS "I" BEAM AND ONE IS "H" BEAM

FOR 55GALS OF ADI CAN YOU TELL WHICH IS WHICH ???????

        Doc,

from what memory I have left.......Blade rod is "H" beam
Fork rod is "I" beam.......and I'd love to share a couple 12-20 oz
doses of adi with ya some day!

......as for the Bud girls........the pits is a dangerous place for any girl, let alone cuties like them.....

(No women or girls were harmed in making this post)
(no women were harmed in the pits,.....lots of drooling...heavy breathing,etc.....but no touch or harm)
        .........

        Thanks Doc!
(Ya notice the first(only) response (other than yours)was about the girls.)(I guess I need to change business ventures eh?)

          Whoa!!

          Hey now!
I could almost take offense to the statement, "...the pits is a dangerous place for any girl, let alone cuties like them..... "

I might not be a "Bud girl" or a "cutie" but boyee, let me tell you that I have more than enough sense, in my head, to always have an eye open in every direction, while in the pits!

Blonde bimbos with overly huge racks are not the only females running around in the pits, some of us (myself and Brigetta Nurmi, for instance) are actually working very hard, every day, to bring you the news and the photos from the first day of arrivals to Sunday's final and aftermath for every Reno!

And a lot females, including photo-journalists, pilots and crew, are quite excited and knowledgable on the subjects of engines, fuselage and aerodynamics!

So, if you really think that Reno and the pits are for "boys only", then remind me to slap you upside-the-head at Reno 2003!

Hey Griff, I think you might have taken mayday's comment a litte left of where he intended it..

Looks more like a slap at us drooling letch types known to frequent the pits as well as other locations..

Anyway.. that's my take on it.

                  Oh my!!

Well, if Wayne's post is correct with "...Looks more like a slap at us drooling letch types known to frequent the pits as well as other locations.." then I appologize for being so defensive.

I just don't like being told what I should or shouldn't do because I am female and the word "cannot" is not in my dictionary!

As far as the "letch-types" go, that's part of the fun of being out there! Maybe I'll just have to get some shorter shorts before I go into the pits this year! ;-)

And Pearce, you just hush about those damn twinkies!!
                  But they were mighty yummy!

                      Twinkies

I'm sure I will be able to come up with Twinkies again next year. And of course, you know not to look for them yourselves; or you may disappear and never be seen again (like so much other "treasure" that has been left behind by it's previous owners).

                          Griffon Girl

                          Griffon Girl,

Wayne had the right take on the post (leacherous ,drooling...)
                          ..........

........and,no I will not make commands to you or anyone,I have too much trouble trying to keep after my self!

.........my introduction to stock car racing was through a gal,
(and execpt a broken car,I have never beat her racing!)....

.....now if you could show some of the drooling masses where the mops & buckets reside,we could prevnt major flooding.....

                          .....all done in fun.....
..........wanted to wake up a sleepy (seemingly) board.

My apologies if you were offended.

I was not the creator of the Twinkie feast. I was in the advanced stages of inebriation at that point in the evening... well... anytime past noon I guess, but anyway, I don't know who made the meal. It looks like something that he would do.

I'm more of a Twinkie and beer type of guy.
