Yeah, and another one ended up in pieces at the bottom of Lake Ontario. It blew up during a captive test flight. Too bad, kinda a cool lookin' plane.

My bad..... without thinking about what it might do to captions, carefully installed by posters, while I was rebuilding the thumbnails, I got the idea that bigger thumbs would be cool.....

Of course, this entirely messes up Bucky's stuff....

I MAY have a quick fix....

Hey... I just reset the "amount of thumbs across" variable back to 5...I think that did the trick.

It might push out the boarders on some posts where there are 5 across that are all horizontal shots but that's an easy fix also....

Lemme know if this worked OK!

'AWESOME' Shot (Size- Large)! Many thanks for posting this sweet A-2-A head-on composition. Reminds me of 'Man-O-War' (w/double Spit canopy mirrors). How 'bout the ID of this P-51 & some photo info, please? Great way to start my day. THX! DBD

251MX is a "TP-51C" formerly owned by Max Chapman. It is a gorgeous machine and flys as good as it looks.

I'll make a contribution to this awesome display of frontal scenery.

Reading a NACA report (MR L-579) about spinners and cowlings I could understand, somehow, why Rare Bear and Critical Mass have a straight conic shape diffuser behind the spinner.
Do Dreadnought and Steadfast have similar straight-wall diffusers after the spinners, or curved-wall sections?
