I think it's really important to note that Mueller does NOTHING with the computer other than scanning his work! When you see something he "throws out" for review, it's a painting! He does this stuff completely by hand with brush and paint!

I really like this cilor scheme by Dave Mueller. It enhances the lines of the Yak beautifully. The only thing that will be naturally added in flight will be the exhaust stain.

Very cool design. Has elements of Odegaard's Super Corsair scheme in it...and it seems to fit the Yak well.

At a wild guess, I'd say he starts with an existing photo as a base point, though! That particular one looks kinda familiar.........
