I managed to get an updated photo gallery featuring the 'Rare Bear' her crew and pilot uploaded early this morning. I'm not finished with it yet, so please bear with me as I will continue to work on it.

Great job Lonnie. Its a photo story in itself. Well documented. It helps us understand what a great pilot & crew they all are even tho I'm a P51 fan. Thanks again.

I have to be honest, when I first saw the 'Bear' a month before the Gold Race, I had my doubts. But then as I watched over the days that followed, I began to see a light at the end of the tunnel. There was a stretch of a few days that I didn't get to the 'Cave', but when I did get back out there...I couldn't believe how much progress had been made. I was quite shocked at how far along things had progressed. It was nothing less than amazing.

A big thanks to you and your wife, and all of the others. Mr. Lewis and 'Super' Dave could not have picked a better group of people to bring the 'Bear' back to championship form. And also a special thanks to Mr. John Penney. It's like you and the 'Bear' belong together. Your skills and talent really shined through on Sunday with that 'deadstick' landing.

Really cool gallery Lonnie. I think that's the only time I've seen the Bear sans paint other than when she was first built sporting zinc-chromate primer.

Would anyone explain me please how does the Rare Bear landing gear work? how is it actuated? is it posible to be explained, or it is secret or it simply works like others?
I made the same question in other forum with no answer yet, hope to be lucky here.
I really donŽt know. So, I would really appreciate someone can explain it.
I apologize for my ignorance about it.
