Didn't Curtis have a pusher design(XP55orXP65)? It was test flown but never went into production. Bell Aircraft also had a twin engine pusher bomber design called the Airacuda that flew but never used. Lockheed Bob
There were a couple of pushers, Vultee XP-54, Curtiss XP-55, and Northrup XP-56. None went into production. The nose of the 54, entire 55, and I think a 56 are in the Garber facility. These all came from the same Government contract.
The Bell Airacuda was a earlier design (1937), in fact Lawrence Bell's first plane from his own company.
Japan and Italy also had flying pusher prototypes. Germany had some on the drawing board.
The NASM's Curtiss XP-55 Ass-Ender is on long-term loan to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo after the Zoo's folks restored it. It certainly looks better than when I saw it at Garber in 1990.
