  • #42 Relentless NXT returns to sky!!!

Wow! With my good friend Cj in chase in his Glasair III we blasted into the air for a 28 minute dance with my new and improved NXT. She is certainly wearing her "House Dress", but the heart of a true racer is still alive and well.

Moving the engine forward correcting the CG made all the difference in stability. Aside from needing to move the pito tube alittle higher to get it out of the prop wash on climb-out everthing felt right.

A few weeks of sanding with a few minor tweaks and we should be ready to show what an NXT can really do. Paint is scheduled for late June in time for OshKosh Race. Those of you who asked can rest easy on the paint, it will me the same amazing design that Mirco has yet to top!

    We are Relentless!!!

That's awesome news, so glad to see the plane in the air again. The only thing still waiting for is the awesome paint job and coming across the finish line at Reno in 1st..........

      Kevin,
Kind of off topic, but who did your helmet paint?

                  Kevin,
Could you tell us a little about the cooling air cowl outlet duct?
                  Temporary?? Break-in use?

                  Thanks,
                  Scott B.

This was designed by Paul Lipps to replace stock exhaust Augmentor. So far is seems to be working perfectly! We need more testing but so far temps are low and the exhaust heat is deluted to the point it does not seem to hurt the gear doors like the old exhaust used to. I am sure the drag is less than two round tubes sticking out but we may play with some cowling changes in the future.
