      I am wondering this a bit..it had 2 x 140 kg engines ( about ? ) and weighed 2000 kilos.

Where were the cooling radiators ?

I believe the molds are sitting in the Tsunami trailer behind the Valle Panes of Fame, if anyone wants to try again.

It would be pretty sweet with a couple of Falconers on it. At least they are proven.

It would probably be to heavy and to much drag, especially with the radiators. It would be be cool though! What it really needs is two of the Lycoming TIO-580's off of Jeff LaVelle's Glasair. It would probably go faster than it ever went with the Nissan engines.

Only about 50 lbs a side compared to the Falconer and the V12 makes 600hp. As for the radiators, boil off. What is the hp of the 580?

You may be right about the Falconer being a better option. It makes more hp on paper (650hp+ and 800hp+ in race trim). It weighs 980lbs ready to go. Specs here: http://www.bluethunderairracing.com/...pecifications/

I am really guessing on the LaVelle setup, but I know it was rumored the Nemesis NXT had 600hp out of a 540. The 580 weighs 444lbs dry. But LaVelle's is pretty exotic with twin turbos and ADI. Maybe 600-700hp With an installed weight of 600lbs (including ADI and turbos)???

Where are the insiders when you need them!

I think having 2 x 1360 hp Koenigsegg V-8s and the radiator in the wing root ala DhHornet you would have a winner with 2720 hp to use in an aircraft smaller in forward projection ( frontal area ) than a Tsunami.

Simple Zwesda hot seat also to get out fast in case of fire; http://www.zvezda-npp.ru/engl/sks-94.html.

Here is my old twin design; http://www.homebuiltairplanes.com/fo...ini_v8_ii2.jpg

I've always liked that design of yours, Juke - probably because it's similar to one that I sketched out several years ago.

The problem with the Koenigsegg engine is it does not make enough power at the correct RPM. Sure you could build a gearbox that would allow it to run peak horsepower at 7000rpm, but there is no way it would last a race let alone race week.

Check out the power curve below. As you can see, at 4000 RPM it is only putting out about 400hp.

Ok I suspected there was something fishy about it.

Maybe it could use the higher rpm to overtake ?
