Watched it yesterday,it was o.k..I think the myth was actually about the pattern of the prop strikes(cuts).The re-creation of the accident was actually funny,but I think the first half of the show,starting a fire with two sticks was better.Jim Adams

I personally think they saw that picture and thought it would be pretty cool to re-inact it. Then the producers worked with the chainsaw story knowing full well it was a myth.
It did look pretty fun to set everything up and chop away!

That's funny, since there are plenty of scans of the actual article from an Australian newspaper that clearly show it was an airplane.

Saw the replay today and wondered why it was on the show, having heard the story several times. Besides, if you were an enraged spouse, would you make such symmetrical cuts? Could you? Oh well, it was fun to watch. I too enjoyed firestarting methods part.--Amy
