Just wanted to put up a short post that aerobatic pilot Eric Beard, who flew a red, white, & blue Yak 54 (one of seven in the world) was killed in the crash of a commuter flight for Airpac Airlines over the weekend. Not much information, but it was a short flight from Bellingham, WA to Burlington, WA. He had called Unicom and announced his intentions to land, but never made it to the airport.
He was a familiar sight at shows around the Pacific Northwest, and I believe he even performed at Reno a couple of years back.
