  • Coasties - God Bless em!

Down at the southern Washington coast right now, about 10:00PM... just went out on the deck to see the ocean in the moonlight and off in the distance, a costie chopper headed out to sea at high speed. No clue as to what they are doing, but it's just above freezing and I can only guess that the ladies and gentemen at Coast Guard Station Ilwaaco would rather be in bed at this hour rather than chasing off into the cold dark "nothing".

    God bless em!

At that hour, on the ocean, you can bet a life was saved that night. Not enough attention is given to the Coast Guard, or for that matter, any other public servant. They just do their job.

Probably looking for my wife. On Sunday afternoon, she crossed over to Mercer Island 5 times trying to get to Sea-Tac from Redmond. She called me on cell phone to get directions but she didn't know where she was so it was kind of hard to help. She finally got a local driver to escort her halfway and then to point her in the right direction and she made her flight out (barely)

Just kidding, Honey! (she only went to Mercer twice.)

        Kudos to the USCG!

So just to clear up any confusion....the Coast Guard. They're the ones who have to be at least 6 feet tall, so in case their boat sinks they can wade ashore, right?

Sorry. Just a little 'airdale' humor.

The 'puddle pirates' as the case may be?

Aww, what do I know...a lowly landlubber.
