Looks like a chip off the old block. The shot of the Camaro is awesome. Real nice composure.
You'll get your chance, smart guy!

Great pics, but I figured the answer was this:

          _________
          -Matt
Red Bull has no earthly idea what "air racing" is.

Shouldn't be too much longer before Jeff has his own blue "NHRA Photo" vest (or Reno arm band) Good work Jeff

Great Pics! I was there at the races as well. Did not get any pics, camera down. Nice to hear some Air Racing fans are also drag racing fans. We ought to get together at the Winternationals. It would be nice to meet those who we read and reply to on this site.

Not too shabby. At least he is starting out right, by learning to pan. When I started shooting drag races I froze everything, and was so proud of sharp pics. Yikes, boy was I messed up. He is well on his way.

By the way, notice the 69 Camaro, it is a stocker. These things are unbelievable now, those are only 9" slicks on that car!!!

I was looking at the '70 Cuda and noticing the same thing. It doesn't even have a 4-link rear end, its got the stock asymmetric leafs and shocks back there. Probably relocated inboard, but still... its amazing. You can also see the engine torque trying to plant the right front wheel back on the ground, too...

Me too. Its a little unusual to see a Mopar wheelstand like that, at least until you get down into the 11-second bracket and the sheer acceleration dominates the car's attitude. The way the factory rear suspension works, they really tend to "jump" off the line because the axle torque lifts the rear end of the car through the spring front-halves and the pinion snubber (if it's set right). Looks really neat to see a well-tuned one jump out of the hole with the chassis almost level.

And the way to spot the worst-running Mopar at the strip is to find the one that someone's stuck "slapper" traction bars on
