    Oh yeah,

Steve is way beyond Hawaii. Looking good so far. I hope he has got an autopilot and gets some sleep.

Doing 275 knots and heading 116.2. I bet he wants to see Los Angeles ! : )

        Yippee !

Continental USA visible on the upper right hand corner. Wonder how far he can glide if the fuel is going to run out. He is at 46 600 feet now.

From the GlobalFlyer website, he can go about 270 miles from 9 miles up, about 30/1 glide.

If anybody lives in Northern Arizona...LOOK UP!

If you see a slow moving single contrail, that's him. He's at 200 kts /FL450.

On his way down, passing through 35,000 feet in eastern Colorado. Looks like he's going to make it.

A bit over an hour to go

                Go Steve!

Descending through 25000 feet about 50 minutes out.

He's got it made (but you don't stop flying the plane until it's chocked)

Re: Global Flyer is on the way

Has anybody seen any specs on what the glide ratio is for that plane? Just curious about how far he could have glided if he had lost his engine while at an altitude of 44,000 feet.

Re: Global Flyer is on the way

Please go to page 2. From nine miles to 290 miles. 30/1 glideratio.

The server is loaded over at virginatlantic missioncontrol and I dunno where Steve is now. By the time I'll wake up in the morning he'll be back on the Terra Firma.

Where is Steve right about now ?

So he made it ( 290 miles of gliding power considered ! ) !

Congratulations Burt and Steve and the whole team.
