  • Who purchased the ex "Miss Bardahl" P-51 Mustang

    Hello:

Does anyone know who just recently put down 1.3 million dollars for the North Amercain P-51 D Mustang serial number 44-74506.

It was owned and raced as the "Miss Bardahl" (race number 49) by the late Ed Weiner in the 60's. It placed second at the Reno National Air Races in 1967.

In 1967, she was called Hi Time II, and wore zebra stripes. And indeed was 2nd in the Championship Race of 1967

In 1968, she was Bardahl Miss, and was painted all over checker board. Ed qualified her, but pulled out and landed during Heat #1, having suffered aheart attack, later dieing on Sept. 29th.
Prospector can probably supply more info.

Last I heard, that airframe was in Europe. France, I think. But I'm not sure.

I did a search on the net for 44-74506 and another for FAZJJ.
there is a lot of info. out there on this Mustang but the latest is just the sale pending at Courtesy Aircraft Sales.
Is there an "FAA" for France that has internet access?

Awesome color air to air of Hi Time II in the zebra stripes

Just found this: Looks like it's comming back to the US?
The new owner is an American who wishes to remain discrêt for the moment. The hunter will leave France before the end of this year.

Wow Marauder61, good find! Wonder who the lucky new owner might be? My guess, at that 1.3 mil asking price, racing mods and or racing at all would be pretty unlikely but ya never know!

                Hello old thread.
Watching FlightRadar.com and observed N151FT on map crossing SW Alabama from Florida, too far north (15 miles) to be seen here. Appeared to land around Vicksburg area. Google that number for owner info etc.
