  • Warlock is happy!

On my way back from Las Vegas yesterday (with my tail between my legs!) I drove through Shafter. Although I didn't get any pictures, I heard through the rumor mill that fan-favorite Warlock has had her first flight after a rebuild and is very happy! Sounds like the first flight for the worlds most photographed T-6 went very well! I'm sure Randy Goss can provide more details, and confirm the rumor.

    Race 29
Full throttle till you see God, then turn left!

While on the road from Medford OR to Reno just past the state line in california I saw a Black T-6 down on the deck and hauling. Had to be 6-cat.

Warlock is back together and flying like a nice T-6 should.

Good to hear Warlock's back in the air. We're still down with clean up work and engine. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Now if I just had time to get that pesky transporter working, we could beam everything there.

                          Re: Warlock is happy!

Big Red was purchased by Joey Sanders. It is getting "maintenance" done in prep for the race. Gordo as he is known, will probably be a major force in the years to come. He is looking forward to it.

                            Re: Warlock is happy!

Hi Chip -- Thanks for this information. One always hopes these really historic racers will be purchased by someone who wants to keep them on the Race Course. I first photographed Big Red in 1979 (my first pace plane ride, too!), and it had a very distinguished career before that (the name Mac McClain ring a bell?). I've also had a couple of enjoyable photo flights in the airlane. I'm glad it'll still be around...
